My approach to photographing events is to be just that - approachable. 

 

My friends, family and pretty much everyone who knows me will tell you I'm a people person - I can talk to anyone. This is probably why I love photographing events, from graduations to weddings, everyone is always in a great mood and wanting to chat about their achievement/story. 

 

Being approachable really helps at an event. Usually event photographers are there in their black polo shirts keeping their distance. I tend to try and blend in with the crowd a bit more. I've had conversations with camera shy guests, to make them more relaxed when I'm around with a camera. 

 

When I'm photographing an event - its nearly always a combination of candid photographs of the event taking place, and more posed photographs of people who want a photo of them and their friends to keep and remember. I'm flexible, let me know which you would like more of, and I'll do just that.
